In the summer time the best place to kick off your shoes and lounge is
Hawaii… the beach…your own backyard. Wouldn’t it be nice to step out onto your patio and feel like you can relax as the stress drains away?
We are in need of a backyard makeover. We’ve gotten rid of the slide, sandbox and nerf guns, actually, we still have those, and we are ready for a more mature looking area.
It starts with a good dining set. This one from Target seats 8 which is perfect for my family or a small dinner party. I love that it extends for more seating. We bought our current patio table at Von’s many years back and it has served us well. But it’s time for an upgrade. Bonus that the chairs stack for easy storage.
After dinner you can relax and put your feet up on this sectional. This would look great on our patio and provide enough seating in the small area we have.
Twinkling lights are a must for our area. We bought these outdoor lights for our patio a last summer from Costco. My husband bought the ones change colors for more mood lighting. I prefer the white but the other colors are kind of fun too.
You need a good grill for making burgers, bbq chicken or grilling that perfect steak. A grill like this would get the job done. I love grills that have a burner on the side for heating up sauces, beans, or other side dishes.
Don’t take the good dishes outside. Instead get a set of these pretty melamine dishes for outdoor entertaining. This would look beautiful on any table and are durable enough to move in or out of the house.
I would put a few of these Ikea lanterns around to provide soft lighting as the sun goes down. They come in two sizes so you can put these on the floor or on the tabletop. Lighting is everything!
Forget the hammock. Instead grab a papasan for a little relaxation. Add a nice pillow and you have yourself a place to rock. It even has cupholders and place to put a book or magazine.
I think we’re all set. Chill that bottle of wine. Bring out the steaks and corn on the cob. Invite over some friends and be ready to enjoy the summer.
